NLP and Positive Change

I have been studying NLP since 2003 and am (for what it's worth):

  • Certified Master Practitioner of NLP - ABNLP
  • Master Practitioner of Timeline Release©
  • Master Hypnosis Certified

I also have an NLP Blog called NLP Diary, about my daily encounters with NLP.

NLP and Me

NLP is a funny 'model'. I first got interested through watching Derren Brown on television. What I have since realised for msyelf is that it is not just something you can try and use in business or for entertainment. It is so powerful it can change many aspects of your life.

I spent 30 years (12 as an adult) thinking so negatively about so many things, especially myself. As 'successful' as I seemed, I knew something was missing - I just didn't know what. After studying all sorts of religions and philosophies, I ended up training in NLP at Practitioner level to gain some hands-on experience. What I found, was a set of techniques that when applied, made the difference I was looking for.

My NLP Master Practitioner reinforced this and allowed me to learn more in-depth ways to help other people.

Since then, and through my friend Daryll Scott, I have also become to realise I know nothing. NLP is one part of a very big picture. So, I intend to get into it some more. Things such as the Human Element and FIRO.

NLP and Other People

I'm not sure why this page is on my website, perhaps it won't be for long, it just seems relevant. With other people, I have got to the point where I don't want to talk about NLP. As powerful as NLP is, I have met so many people that think they are better for it, when their own congruency (or lack of) tells me something so very different.

NLP is also so unregulated, an disjointed, I think any certification should be taken with a pinch of salt. Some people train in groups of 10, some in groups of hundreds. How can there be any consistency? If you are interested in training, please beware this in mind. Horses for courses I guess.

As far as being a Jedi, you can be given the light saber, but that doesn't necessarily give you the right mind-set.

More about NLP

  • If you are interested in NLP in context of Business Application, I recommend Use Your Noggin. I used to work with Daryll Scott and his knowledge and commitment to NLP and his understanding of business is a great combination. He also 'gets' that there is more to it than this thing called NLP.
